Knowledge Base structuring
WP 2-1

Objectives

  • Synthesis, critical analysis and structuring of existing knowledge related to the impact of climate change on the sweet-water lakes and coastal areas through a System of Systems approach
  • The establishment and operationalization of an advisory structure including the most representative experts, departments, laboratories and research centers in the country and in the EU on the topic of the impact of climate change on sweet-water lakes. Aggregation and critical analysis of accumulated knowledge on the specific focus lakes as Siutghiol and Bicaz.

Digital Twin on Sweet- Water Lakes
WP 2-2

Objectives

  • Identification of reliable data sources and their interoperability for generating the data sets required in modelling and simulation activities for analyses of proposed solutions and optimization;
  • Selection, testing and validation of the models for the hydrology, the physical, chemical and biological characterization of lake waters in order to assess the quantitative and qualitative ecosystem services associated with these types of lakes;
  • Interoperability with the Digital Twin Platform;

Deliverables

D2-2.1 Report on National, International and Global data sources, including satellite data regarding the Climate Change impact on the eutrophication of sweet-water lakes and Black Sea West coast waters. Responsible P1-UOC

D2-2.2 Report on computational models for the hydrology, the physico-chemical and biological characterization of lake waters and coastal sea waters and their integration in the Digital Twin Platform. Responsible P1-UOC

Risk Analysis & Governance of Vulnerabilities
WP 2-3

Objectives

  • Development of procedures for risk analysis in order to identify vulnerabilities related to the effect of climate change on the sweet-water lakes in Romania
  • Developing the methodology for Governance of vulnerabilities on Climate Change adaptation
  • Validation of the procedures on the Siutghiol lake.
  • Developing and validation of methodologies for defining policy recommendations.

Co-creation & co- design of Adaptation solutions
WP 2-4

Objectives

  • Development of procedures for the establishment of working groups (Living Laboratory) with local communities and experts in the field to analyze existing situations and trends in order to co-create innovative solutions for adaptation
  • Mapping stakeholders, local networks and local Governance
  • Development of innovation pathways for co-creation using NbS
  • Involvement of citizens in the design of the Demo cases and evaluation of their feedback.

Piloting & Validation
WP 2-5

Objectives

  • Definition and validation of procedures for detailed design and planning of the pilot activities
  • Developing the procedures for monitoring, evaluation, and appropriate corrections of the implementation of the plans on pilot cases
  • Selection and validation of procedures for commissioning and evaluation of the implementation process

Deliverables

D2-5.1 Report on Detailed design, IPR, permits and approvals for the onsite displacement of the pilot platform for reversal of eutrophication in sweet-water lakes and sea coastal waters. Responsible P1-UOC

D2-5.2 Report on Planning, implementation and corrective actions for manufacturing, Commissioning and onsite displacement of the platform. Responsible P1-UOC

D2-5.3 Report on Testing, monitoring and validation of the platform in real conditions (TRL 4). Responsible P1-UOC

Evaluation & Upscaling

Objectives

  • Definition and validation of procedures for project design, identification of innovative financing solutions, project

planning and management, as well as evaluation of implementation indicators

  • Development of tools and methodologies for evaluation of replication opportunities, feasibility studies and up-scaling.
  • Dissemination and coordination of the WP.

D2-6.1 Report on the Evaluation of the societal impact results on the Siutghiol lake pilot. Responsible P1-UOC

D2-6.2 Report on the Assessment of the replication possibilities of the methodology for the Bicaz lake. Responsible P1-UOC

Management, Sustainability & Dissemination

Objectives

  • Integration of the outcomes in the Competence Centre and operationalization of the procedures and collaboration protocols
  • Dissemination of results, development of approaches to expand and multiply positive results,
  • Definition of recommendations for policies and normative acts
  • Collaboration with the education sector, NGOs, mass media and the general public.
